2024-04-23liba52: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin
The component has been superseded by ffmpeg long ago, tarballs have disappeared from sourceforge, no work on it has happened in over 10 years. Signed-off-by: Alexander Kanavin <alex@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2023-12-06systemtap-uprobes: removed as obsoleteVictor Kamensky
systemtap-uprobes package was not used for a long time - since kernel itself provided uprobes support. Now source code of old uprobes kernel module was removed from systemtap git repo by "PR30434 continuation: Removed old uprobes, uprobes2 implementation, uprobes-inc.h & any mentions of CONFIG_UTRACE." it is good time for us to gid rid of it too. Signed-off-by: Victor Kamensky <victor.kamensky7@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Alexandre Belloni <alexandre.belloni@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2022-02-20core-image-testmaster: Rename to core-image-testcontrollerRichard Purdie
Rename the image, the test controller class/code/module and the underlying image sentinel file to all match the controller terminology. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2021-07-30Convert to new override syntaxRichard Purdie
This is the result of automated script conversion: scripts/contrib/convert-overrides.py <oe-core directory> converting the metadata to use ":" as the override character instead of "_". Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2021-06-03Remove Clutter and CoglRoss Burton
Clutter and Cogl are not used by anything in oe-core, and in Gnome are legacy components so are only used by a few applications. The recipes have already been moved to meta-gnome so they can now be removed from oe-core. Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2020-08-15build-compare: Drop recipeRichard Purdie
If we no longer have the packagefeed-stability class, we no longer need need build-compare as it was the only user of it. Therefore drop the recipe too. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2020-03-06babeltrace2: added first version, 2.0.1Anders Wallin
Babeltrace 1 vs. Babeltrace 2 The Babeltrace project exists since 2010. In 2020, Babeltrace 2 was released. Babeltrace 2 is a complete rewrite of the library, Python bindings, and CLI. It is plugin based and offers much more features and potential than Babeltrace 1. Because Babeltrace 2 is still a young released project, some distributions still provide packages for the Babeltrace 1 project. Both projects can coexist on the same system as there are no common installed files. 2019-08-29Remove LSB supportAdrian Bunk
LSB as a standard isn't current and isn't well suited to embedded anyway. Its putting artifical constraints on the system and with modern layer technology, would now be better off as its own layer. As such its time to split it out. The only part with some (marginal) usage is lsb_release, which is split from the lsb package into an own lsb-release package. 2019-08-03libxx86misc: remove this now redundant libraryRoss Burton
The extension this client library is for was removed from the X server over a decade ago: commit 22e64108ec63ba77779891f8df237913ef9ca731 Author: Daniel Stone <daniel@fooishbar.org> Date: Wed Jul 16 06:25:26 2008 +0300 XFree86: Remove XFree86-Misc extension Its last remaining purpose in life has been destroyed by input properties. Au revoir: it's been fun, by which I mean awful. Remove the obsolete dependencies from xset and xdpyinfo, and delete libxx86misc entirely. 2018-11-23u-boot: Add mkenvimage toolAlexey Brodkin
This utility is used for creation of images containing usable in run-time U-Boot environment. As of today this utility is added per-board like here [1] for Intel Edison board. [1] http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-intel-edison/tree/meta-intel-edison-bsp/recipes-bsp/u-boot/u-boot-tools_2014.04.bb Given there're quite some U-Boot tools that we may want to add later this recipe name switch from "u-boot-mkimage" to generic "u-boot-tools" still for compatibility we provide "u-boot-mkimage" with help of PROVIDES as well as proposed "u-boot-mkenvimage". 2018-06-21mktemp: removeRoss Burton
Both busybox and coreutils provide mktemp, and the only difference between those (and standalone mktemp) is that coreutils supports --suffix. Also mktemp.org has disappeared, so it's fair to assume that the standalone mktemp (last released in 2010) is dead. 2018-05-04xorgproto: Replace individual depreciated xorg proto recipes with xorgprotoArmin Kuster
Xorg upstream have replaced the individual xorg proto repositories with one master repository. This converts to the new system. The only one not included is calibrateproto which was depreciated entirely and replaced be xinput. We can drop this entirely. 2018-04-05nativesdk-postinst-intercept: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin
Its use required a script from an external repo which hasn't been updated in 4 years, the recipe itself is out of date (doesn't install all intercepts), and there is no oe-selftest or documentation for this. If anyone still wants this, please do it in a separate layer. Signed-off-by: Alexander Kanavin <alexander.kanavin@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2017-07-17distro_alias.inc: update unmap packages to other distroShen Joon Tan
Added packages with different names or based on sources that generates multiple binaries eg: python-pycurl source generates python3-pycurl as well. Currently, some of these packages are not displayed as part of other distro due to naming differences on the source rather than the binaries as a single source could produce multiple binaries with different names. 2016-11-30x11-common: Merge into xserver-nodm-initJussi Kukkonen
Move the (non-factual) x utils dependencies from x11-common to x11 packagegroup. Remove some obsolete configuration from x11-common: * Xsession.d/12keymap.sh: commented out xmodmap call for kdrive * default.xmodmap: xmodmap file used by 12keymap.sh * Xdefaults: rxvt configuration At this point x11-common is just /etc/X11/Xsession and three non-intrusive Xsession scripts: make these explicitly part of xserver-nodm-init. RCONFLICT with the versions of xserver-common that also provide these files. VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_xserver_common is no longer a real abstraction but preserve the setting for backwards compatibility (if the variable is set to "xserver-common", the right thing still happens). Signed-off-by: Jussi Kukkonen <jussi.kukkonen@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>

2016-06-15oprofileui: removeRoss Burton
oprofileui doesn't work anymore with not-so-recent changes to the oprofile command line interface, and perf is becoming the expected profiling solution so any future profiling tools should be using that instead. 2016-02-28adt-installer: Drop since its replaced by the extensible SDKRichard Purdie
The extensible SDK replaces adt-installer so this can be removed now, all future effort in this direction will be placed onto that. 2016-02-06gtk-theme-torturer: remove from oe-coreRoss Burton
