release is fixes to build against the v5.8 kernel.
Noteworthy changes from the strace site:
- Changes in behaviour
- Modified %process class to contain system calls associated with
process lifecycle (creation, exec, termination):
kill, tkill, tgkill, pidfd_send_signal and rt_sigqueueinfo are added,
arch_prctl and unshare are removed.
- Improvements
- Implemented decoding of faccessat2 syscall.
- Implemented decoding of LOOP_CONFIGURE ioctl command.
- Updated decoding of io_uring_setup syscall to match Linux 5.8.
- Updated lists of AUDIT_*, BPF_*, CAP_*, ETH_*, INET_DIAG_*, IORING_*,
KEYCTL_*, KVM_*, LOOP_*, NDA_*, RTC_*, TCA_*, STATX_*, and *_MAGIC
constants.
- Updated lists of ioctl commands from Linux 5.8.
- Bug fixes
- Added statx syscall to %fstat trace class.

5.2 kernel has introduced a significant performance regression
where some of the tests take many minutes to complete (where
previously it was seconds). While we're getting to the bottom
of the issue and working with upstream to resove it, this
change allows tests to proceed instead of getting stuck and
eventually timing out.

V4L2_CID_USER_IMX_BASE value differs in v4.14 and v4.19 LTS kernels

Building strace v4.24 against 4.19 kernel headers results in following

This Linux kernel ABI breakage that occurred wrt V4L2_CID_USER_IMX_BASE
has been observed and addressed in strace upstream commit

* Let automake use parallel test harness which ensures that appropriate
environment variables are actually used.
* Copy generated config.h as part of ptest package and define a variable
in tests Makefile to control the name of target that we'd like to
invoke for tests instead of relying on default value.
* configure relies on tools that are not available in release tarballs
resulting in warnings and failed tests. Get the required information
from available files instead.
* Reduces the count of failing tests to 18 from 35. The rest of
tests fail or get skipped mostly because of missing syscalls. Number of
tests getting skipped can probably be reduced further.

When run the strace ptest on the target, the test files located in the "/usr/lib/strace/ptest/tests",
but the run-test script use the path "srcdir = ../../strace-*/tests"to find the necessary files, so it
can't find the necessary files, it fails. So change the variable srcdir, replace the strace-* to ptest
when do the do_install_ptest() function using the following:
sed -i -e '/^src/s/strace.*[1-9]/ptest/' ${D}/${PTEST_PATH}/${TESTDIR}/Makefile
