* Remove $COREBASE/LICENSE from LIC_FILES_CHKSUMOlaf Mandel2016-10-281-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Several recipes reference the LICENSE file in their LIC_FILES_CHKSUM variable as ${COREBASE}/LICENSE. This forces distribution providers to keep this file verbatim or to overload the affected recipes. The section "Moving to the Yocto Project 1.6 Release" in the Yocto manual suggests removing the LICENSE file where possible. Remove LICENSE in cases where COPYING.MIT is also given and replace LICENSE with COPYING.MIT if the former was the only entry. All modified recipes specify LICENSE = "MIT" and none of the in-tree files specify a different license either. As the packages do not change (the license files are not contained in them), do not increase PR. * formfactor: assume a keyboard is plugged inRoss Burton2016-03-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | A sensible assumption is that BSPs have a USB keyboard and mouse connected unless told otherwise, so flip the logic in the formfactor config script that previously assumed that a keyboard was not connected by default. * Replace one-line DESCRIPTION with SUMMARYPaul Eggleton2014-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | A lot of our recipes had short one-line DESCRIPTION values and no SUMMARY value set. In this case it's much better to just set SUMMARY since DESCRIPTION is defaulted from SUMMARY anyway and then the SUMMARY is at least useful. I also took the opportunity to fix up a lot of the new SUMMARY values, making them concisely explain the function of the recipe / package where possible. * formfactor: Clean up errors on machines without framebuffersRichard Purdie2012-08-212-11/+13
| | | | | | | If fbset can't find a framebuffer we end up with a mess on the console. We might as well avoid doing this on machines without a framebuffer. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

* formfactor: Assume HAVE_TOUCHSCREEN=0Darren Hart2011-03-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If no machine specific formfactor is found, the formfactor config defaults to HAVE_TOUCHSCREEN=1. The result is for the matchbox session to disable the cursor. This can lead to a lot of churn sorting out why the cursor doesn't appear: xorg bug, xorg driver bug, kernel drm driver bug, kms bug, many of which appear when searching for invisible cursor on the web. On the other hand, if a cursor appears on a touchscreen device, one is much more likely to reach a correct conclusion: "I need to set HAVE_TOUCHSCREEN=1 in my custom machine formfactor config". Which likely exists or is needed for other formfactor specific things such as dpi, screen size, rotation, etc. Signed-off-by: Darren Hart <dvhart@linux.intel.com>

* Rename MACHINE=netbook to MACHINE=atom-pcDarren Hart2010-10-082-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | In preparation for the more generic atom-pc, rename the netbook machine and all the relevant overrides. Leave the linux-netbook kernel recipe intact and as the default kernel for the atom-pc machine. A future patch will convert this over to linux-wrs and likely remove the linux-netbook kernel recipe. * Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie2010-08-2722-0/+276
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
