testsdk: Improvements to the json logging
Tweak the preceeding commit to:
* Add STARTTIME to the identifier to make it unique
* Add MACHINE to the identifier
* Use LOG_DIR
* Store the layer config in a more natural json format
* Drop '_' function prefixes
