2021-11-13recipes: Update SRC_URI branch and protocolsArmin Kuster
This patch updates SRC_URIs using git to include branch=master if no branch is set and also to use protocol=https for github urls as generated by the conversion script in OE-Core. Signed-off-by: Armin Kuster <akuster808@gmail.com>

2021-01-14protobuf: apply fix for pkg-config pthread flagsAdrian Herrera
This upstream fix solves an issue by which the protobuf pkg-config linker flags did not provide -pthread. This can result in segmentation faults due to no available pthread library. See https://github.com/protocolbuffers/protobuf/issues/8059 for details on the issue. 2020-06-15protobuf: Upgrade 3.11.4 -> 3.12.3Leon Anavi
Upgrade to release 3.12.3. Update the path to the git repository in GitHub. Update the patch for examples/Makefile. The new release brings: - [experimental] Singular, non-message typed fields in proto3 now support presence tracking. This is enabled by adding the "optional" field label and passing the --experimental_allow_proto3_optional flag to protoc. - Allow duplicate symbol names when multiple descriptor sets are passed on the command-line, to match the behavior when multiple .proto files are passed. - Deterministic protoc --descriptor_set_out - Bug fixes for the supported programming languages Signed-off-by: Leon Anavi <leon.anavi@konsulko.com> Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem@gmail.com>
2020-06-14protobuf-c: disable parallelism to avoid race conditionPaul Eggleton
Unfortunately 489d3b4b932ee8016d792341f8ea5836a9522cd4 did not completely fix the problem - if you try cleaning and rebuilding protobuf-c-native it doesn't take long to reproduce the issue on a 32-core machine. I spent some time trying to debug this but failed, there is still a race between generating t.test-full.pb.h and compiling cxx_generate_packed_data.c despite BUILT_SOURCES and explicit dependencies. I even tried converting the multiple target rules to use grouped targets (&:), that didn't fix it either. Disabling parallelism as a workaround only costs ~20s and it turns out that upstream is switching to Meson soon anyway: https://github.com/protobuf-c/protobuf-c/pull/340 Signed-off-by: Paul Eggleton <paul.eggleton@linux.microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem@gmail.com>

2018-09-25protobuf: make python-protobuf dependency optional and default to offPaul Eggleton
A dependency on python-protobuf was added in commit 5f6fcfd36272768a3ff9078c07c572cf5dc01ccd for the sole purpose of providing a ptest, however python-protobuf is in meta-python and thus this means that meta-oe would depend on meta-python by default (assuming your distro enables ptest by default), and we don't want that - meta-oe isn't supposed to depend upon any layer other than openembedded-core. Luckily we can still have a ptest even without the python support, so add a PACKAGECONFIG and leave it disabled by default. Note: the PACKAGECONFIG here is not particularly useful since it's only about what goes into the -ptest package and thus also the dependency. I contemplated just using LANG_SUPPORT instead, but PACKAGECONFIG does have the advantage that it's introspectable and fairly well understood so in the end I went with it. 2018-08-28protobuf-c: Update 1.3.0 -> 1.3.1Jens Rehsack
Updating protobuf-c to 3.6.1: [ Robert Edmonds ] * Release 1.3.1. * Restore protobuf-2.x compatibility (#284, #285). * Use xenial and protobuf 3.6.1 in the Travis-CI environment (#332). * Convert uses of protobuf's scoped_ptr.h to C++11 std::unique_ptr, needed to compile against protobuf 3.6.1 (#320, #333). * Use AX_CXX_COMPILE_STDCXX macro to enable C++11 support in old compilers (#312, #317, #327, #334). [ Fredrik Gustafsson ] * Add std:: to some types (#294, #305, #309). [ Sam Collinson ] * Check the return value of int_range_lookup before using as an array index; it can return -1 (#315). [ Matthias Dittrich ] * Fix compilation on mingw by using explicit protoc --plugin=NAME=PATH syntax in Makefile.am (#289, #290).
