2014-03-26apt/package_mamager: Ensure WORKDIR is used for lists directoryRichard Purdie
The native sysroot should not be used as a store for the lists files since multiple images running at once would conflict over this. Instead redirect this to WORKDIR. This means some extra directories need to be created. Also create apt.conf.d to silence some warnings. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-03-17apt-native: Install apt-ftparchiveRicardo Ribalda Delgado
apt-ftparchive is needed to create a Release file compatible with SecureApt. It is also a more efficient replacement of dpkg-scanpackages. Signed-off-by: Ricardo Ribalda Delgado <ricardo.ribalda@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-01-02Replace one-line DESCRIPTION with SUMMARYPaul Eggleton
A lot of our recipes had short one-line DESCRIPTION values and no SUMMARY value set. In this case it's much better to just set SUMMARY since DESCRIPTION is defaulted from SUMMARY anyway and then the SUMMARY is at least useful. I also took the opportunity to fix up a lot of the new SUMMARY values, making them concisely explain the function of the recipe / package where possible. 2013-09-24package_deb, apt.conf: fix apt failure in do_rootfs()Laurentiu Palcu
The changes in this commit, dc5f6c3898555b59f16bf809ae4c5418656e6ac9, moved apt config directory from native SYSROOT to WORKDIR. Unfortunately, Dir::Etc in apt.conf was not changed accordingly and sources.list file could not be found during do_rootfs(). This commit fixes this issue. 2013-06-03apt-native: Fix incorrect checksumsRichard Purdie
The apt recipe had the correct checksums, the -native did not. Depending on which downloaded first, the build could succeed or fail. This patch corrects the checksums for -native to match the apt recipe. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2013-01-10apt-native: fix the creation of apt.conf.sampleHongxu Jia
1.The file of "apt.conf.sample" is in the outdir, and outdir is assigned by "os.path.join" with the params of ${D}, ${sysconfdir} and "apt". But ${sysconfdir} is an absolute dir and that let ${D} be discarded. The following is the help on function os.path.join(a, *p): Join two or more pathname components, inserting '/' as needed. If any component is an absolute path, all previous path components will be discarded. Use oe.path.join instead which don't have this problem. 2. Create apt.conf.sample if it doesn't exist. 2012-07-09apt 0.7.14: runtime error: Method file has died unexpectedlyRobert Yang
When the length of the tmpdir is longer than 400, there is an error when run "apt-get update": Method file has died unexpectedly! This is because the "char S[1024]" is not enough for long URI, S[2048] would be enough. [YOCTO #2689] Signed-off-by: Robert Yang <liezhi.yang@windriver.com>
2012-07-09apt 0.7.14: runtime error: filename too long (tmpdir length)Robert Yang
when the tmpdir dir is longer than 220, there is no files saved in tmp/sysroots/x86_64-linux/var/lib/apt/lists/ after run apt-get update, this is because apt-get uses the path as the file name, but the file name can't be longer than 255 according to /usr/include/linux/limits.h. 2012-06-08apt-get 0.7.14: hangs at runtimeRobert Yang
This patch had a little problem, it made a infinite loop: for (K = CmdL.FileList + 1; *K != 0; J++) But the value of "K" will nerver change, so the apt-get hangs, revert this patch first, and will fix the problem in another patch. 2011-01-24apt: revert the dso_linking_change patch as the new linker fixes itNitin A Kamble
The newer binutils recipe of version 2.21 has a fix for ld which avoids an issue where weak symbols like pthread_cancel were causing linking to fail wh --no-add-as-needed parameter was passed to ld. See more information here: http://bugs.debian.org/591405 This makes some of the fixes for breakage after gcc dso linking change unnecessary and this is one of them. 2010-08-27Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
